Romantic Bedrooms

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and in the spirit of the holiday, I’ve pulled together some romantic bedrooms to get your inspiration flowing.  Romance doesn’t have to last just a day; add a little drama into your interiors to enjoy all year long.  Here are some tips to help you set a romantic and stylish stage in your bedroom:

1. Use soft lighting, such as dimmers and/or candles to give your room a romantic glow.  Lighting can quickly change the atmosphere in a room.

2.  Create an open and inviting space; de-clutter.

3.  Use good scents, bring in your favorite aromas with fresh flowers, subtle incense, or scented candles.

4.  Use neutral and soft hues.

5.  Add some curved lines in your furnishings or accents.

6.  Incorporate luxurious materials such as silk, high quality faux fur, crystal, mirrored finishes, antiqued gold and silver, plush carpet, or a soft rug.

My design style is Contemporary.  I am drawn to the clean lines, smooth surfaces, and the up-to-date look.  It’s important for me to have a casual space that functions well and also has a current sense of style. As far as my personal life, I most enjoy spending time with my amazing son.  We play games, do crafts together, and love to go to the park.  There are so many special moments at his age and I love to share them with him.  When I have that rare “me time”, I like to catch up on my favorite shows, bake, and get a quick cat nap (don’t we all wish that?)

These are great rooms; I have trouble picking a favorite.

Ooh la la! I could feel romantic in any of these settings but my favorite is the one with the plum floral accents–a chic and easy touch. Thanks for the timely tips!

Hi Suzy, good choice! I still haven’t been able to pick a favorite but the one with plum floral accents is definitely a top contender.
