Olympic Village

The 2012 London Olympics are proving to be quite exhilarating (Go USA!!)!  With 10,490 Olympians from 204 countries you’ve got to have quite a facility to house all of these athletes.  Olympic Village was designed and built for the 2012 games in the Olympic Park that is located within walking distance from the venues.  This planned community boasts shops, restaurants, medical, media and leisure facilities, and large areas of open space.  The plan retains London’s tradition of building homes around communal squares and courtyards, with water features accentuating the closeness of the River Lea.

After the Games, the Olympic Village will be a lasting legacy of essential new housing for east London. It will be transformed into 2,818 new homes, including 1,379 affordable homes and houses for sale and rent, and will create a new residential quarter to be known as East Village.

I find that my personal design style is always changing to some degree, but I would have to say that I am a Country girl at heart.  I love the comfort, coziness, and relaxed feel that it embodies.  I do love to add a bit of Modern elements into the mix to make it more current.
