Drab or Fab: Neon

0

I’m a big fan of neutrals and subdued colors.  However, I also know that in the right application any color or style can shine.  One set of colors that I used to be in love with at a young age is now seeing a comeback: NEON!!!   Now, unlike my six-year-old self, I’m not such a big fan of them anymore.  But, maybe it’s just the fact that I haven’t opened myself up to all of the new and exciting design possibilities with this color palette.  It’s even been said that neon is the new black.   I understand that design is a risk we all have to take sometimes, but what do you think – are Neon colors back on board, or did they miss their connection from the 80’s train?

I find that my personal design style is always changing to some degree, but I would have to say that I am a Country girl at heart.  I love the comfort, coziness, and relaxed feel that it embodies.  I do love to add a bit of Modern elements into the mix to make it more current.

Not bad… I could go either way on the neon colors. They add a cool kick of color on the all white rooms.

I agree with Ben C. I think it can look really great and I think it can also look awful. I really like the pop of neon color in the mostly white rooms.

I feel the same way! The electric blue pop of color of that cute little Acapulco chair against a stark background is growing on me. A little goes a long way in the world on neon. 🙂

I am so glad neon is making a comeback! I loved neon when it was “in” and I’m loving it now… I can totally see my house with some neon frames, accents or a neon chair. Go neon!

Neon colors permit you to add pop to a room’s décor with few or smaller objects.
