Bold and Graphic Wallpaper

0

One thing is true in design, that trends come and go, and “what’s in” tends to repeat itself through history.  When it comes to wallpaper, graphic prints and bold colors are reintroducing themselves to recent design trends.

I can remember the wallpaper in my grandmother’s powder room so vividly.  It was a jungle-themed green, pearl and mauve wallpaper with frogs.  Now, of course, we have a more modernized collection of bold prints to choose from these days, but that element of “just a little over the top” is definitely back in style.

Even David Bromstad, host of HGTV’s Color Splash has a promising prediction about the decorative surface material;”Wallpaper is making a huge comeback,” says Bromstad. “We are going to see a lot more big, bold, graphic wallpaper like we used to see years ago.”

I think in the right application, a little drama and color is a good thing and can be a fun additional to your home.  I would definitely pass over using the  green and iridescent frog wallpaper, but I think we have some fun new options out there!  What do you think?

I find that my personal design style is always changing to some degree, but I would have to say that I am a Country girl at heart.  I love the comfort, coziness, and relaxed feel that it embodies.  I do love to add a bit of Modern elements into the mix to make it more current.

I like the colors of the one from Better Homes and Gardens, but honestly, I couldn’t handle that much pattern on my walls.

That ginko pattern in orange is really an eye-catcher. I could definitely go for some fun and bold wallpaper in my house.

The prints from Amy Butler are just gorgeous. Fun colors too. I like larger scale wallpaper prints; they seems more modern.

Some of those wallpaper patterns feature an intriguing play on pattern that fits well in a setting for modern glamour, don’t you think?

I’ll have to say Drab for this one, I’m just not feeling the bold wallpaper.

Oh yes! I agree. When we were trying to pick a wallpaper pattern for our powder room, there were just so many beautiful ones to choose from. I’d wallpaper my entire house if my husband would let me!
